Meet Our Nutritionist:
My name is Jessie-mae. I am the inclusion coordinator and Nutritionist at Home2Home Nursery.
I am a level 3 practitioner with 4 years experience and 2 years experience working with Special needs children.
As the nutritionist, I am in charge of ensuring that our menus are healthy and well balanced. I ensure that all dietary requirements are taken into consideration as well as parent and children's views.
All our practitioners have a full paediatric first aid and a level 2 qualification in food hygiene.
I pride myself in close working relationships with you as the parent, because we believe it is just as important that you join in and help us with your child’s learning journey.
I have a very hands on approach to the care that the children receive at my nursery and will always lead by example. I am always available and make time for you to discuss any worries or concerns you might have, or indeed, just to talk about how well your child is doing!
At Home2Home we believe that mealtimes should be happy, social occasions for children and staff alike.
We promote shared, enjoyable positive interactions at these times.
We are committed to offering children healthy, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks which meet individual needs and requirements.
We are Nut-Free and Vegetarian!
During your child’s day we will provide breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch afternoon snack and tea. Information of how well your child have eaten will be shared in their daily communication book or during handover.
Throughout meal times children are encouraged to self-serve and make healthy choices.
Our children have free access to water
and fruit throughout the day.
All meals for the children are prepared daily from fresh ingredients by our in-house practitioner.
Our menus offer a wide variety of balanced and nutritious meals, catering for many dietary requirements. We use Quorn meat for all our meat dishes.
Home2Home ensures that great care is taken to present meals where the food is cut into small pieces enabling your child to eat enjoyably and safely. For these reasons, we have our own strict regulations regarding food shape i.e. we do not serve your child whole grapes, cherry tomatoes, whole meatballs and any other foods with potential to cause difficulty in swallowing.
From milk to food
Parents are asked to provide bottles with formula or breast milk for children who require them.
The nursery provides cow’s milk for children who are able to drink it.
Once your child is ready to be weaned onto solids, we will provide a meal that you feel comfortable with, e.g. pureed carrot. We then gradually progress with the diet i.e. adding different foods and move onto different textures when you and your child are ready. We liaise with parents on a regular basis regarding any changes.
